What do you most look forward to about the work you do?

I most look forward to helping others.

What do you most value about the work you do?

I most value being able to support and provide a safe place for individuals in times that they need it most.

What is something clients might never guess about you?

I was a college athlete- soccer and I was born in Germany (military family)

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a Speech Pathologist or a Criminal Psychologist - FBI profiler

I graduated with a Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling from Nicholls State University in 2017. In 2015, I received a two-year theology certificate from Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge, LA. I then began my counseling career as a college and career counselor with at risk youth in the inner-city public-school system in my home state of Louisiana. This is where I became most passionate about working with children & adolescents, specifically those who have encountered traumatic events in their lives.

From this point I took a big leap of faith and decided to take a position in Colorado at a community health clinic in a small rural mountain town, where I hoped to utilize my Spanish speaking abilities to help break barriers in the mental health field among the Hispanic population. This position is where I gained experience in working with medical physicians, psychiatrists, and patients of all ages (3-65), races/ethnicities, gender, individual to couples, and a variety of mental health disorders from chronic illness to complex PTSD to OCD.

During my time providing services in a clinical setting and in a non-profit counseling agency, I became certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Pediatric OCD specialist, and began my training journey to become a registered play therapist.

I utilize a person-centered and holistic approach in my therapeutic work. I work with the client and the family to determine which approach may be most beneficial as each client is unique and each circumstance exceptional. I believe collaboration with the client lends itself to achieving the clients’ goals and maintaining an engaging life. In addition to traditional psychotherapy, I may also use a combination of art therapy, yoga, therapeutic play, psycho-education, mindfulness, breath work, faith, aromatherapy, eco-therapy, and music.

During my spare time I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and kayaking, going to the gym, attending my local church, traveling, and spending time with her son, family and friends.
