What do you most look forward to about the work you do?

I love seeing people step into their power and create a better life for themselves. It's a power experience to sit with people in their darkness and walk with them on their journey. I love that moment when someone actually feels seen and heard, when they realize that they are not alone, and when they begin to heal.

What do you most value about the work you do?

The thing I value most about what I do is connecting human to human with another person. Human connection is where the magic happens, where people learn that they are not alone, where they grow in their own connection to humanity, and where they begin to heal. When we can connect with another person in that way, we are connecting to something deeper than ourselves, we are connecting with our shared humanity, and I wouldn't exchange that connection for anything.

What is something clients might never guess about you?

People rarely guess that I am a creative person and that my primary outlet for creativity is photography. I also enjoy creative expression through cooking and exploring various styles of food. I appreciate creativity in many forms, not only what I create but what others do as well.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Growing up I wanted to be a Ninja Turtle when I was really young (Leonardo rocks) and then other super heroes from Marvel, and also a brief time wanting to catch all the Pokemon (insert catchy 90's Pokemon theme song).

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Addiction Counselor working in Fort Collins, CO. I received my Master's in Social Work in 2014 through the University of Sothern California. I began my professional career shortly after graduating and worked as a crisis clinician at a local community crisis center, then worked as an integrated behavioral health specialist in the medical field, and finally worked in residential addiction treatment before starting at Colorado Center Assessment and Counseling.

I take a trauma informed, collaborative, and client centered approach to therapy, where my clients set the pace of each session. I recognize that each of us has a unique story that has been shaped by people, places, events, and circumstances. I work to create a space that is safe, warm, and nonjudgement where clients can be themselves. In their stories, I work with clients to heal from pain that has impacted them and work together to develop strategies to grow into a life they want. I look forward to walking with you on this journey.

Personally, I am a Colorado native who loves to enjoy all the beauty that Colorado has to offer, especially in nature. I enjoy being creative through cooking a meal at home, exploring an art gallery, or taking my camera into the mountains for some nature shots. I am a foodie and love to find new restaurants and local coffee shops to explore, often grabbing a coffee and reading my current book.
