A full assessment can help figure out if it’s truly a clinical concern – not just immaturity, typical developmental issues, or lack of study skills, among other things. \n\n[/cs_content_seo][/cs_element_layout_column][/cs_element_layout_row][/cs_element_section][cs_element_section _id=”6″ ][cs_element_layout_row _id=”7″ ][cs_element_layout_column _id=”8″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”9″ ][cs_content_seo]Intake\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_image _id=”10″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”11″ ][cs_content_seo]Virtual (online)\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_gap _id=”12″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”13″ ][cs_content_seo]1-2 hours\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_gap _id=”14″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”15″ ][cs_content_seo]You’ll meet your clinician, give them information on your background and current concerns, and they’ll develop an individualized testing plan to meet your needs.\n\n[/cs_content_seo][/cs_element_layout_column][cs_element_layout_column _id=”16″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”17″ ][cs_content_seo]Testing\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_image _id=”18″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”19″ ][cs_content_seo]In person\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_gap _id=”20″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”21″ ][cs_content_seo]4-6 hours\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_gap _id=”22″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”23″ ][cs_content_seo]Testing is questionnaire-based and may include a variety of tests administered by your clinician and a testing psychologist called a ‘psychometrist.’\n\n[/cs_content_seo][/cs_element_layout_column][cs_element_layout_column _id=”24″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”25″ ][cs_content_seo]Feedback\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_image _id=”26″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”27″ ][cs_content_seo]Virtual (online)\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_gap _id=”28″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”29″ ][cs_content_seo]1-2 hours\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_gap _id=”30″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”31″ ][cs_content_seo]You’ll discuss the results of the testing, including any potential diagnoses and personalized recommendations for ongoing support, including referrals and other resources.\n\n[/cs_content_seo][/cs_element_layout_column][/cs_element_layout_row][/cs_element_section][cs_element_section _id=”32″ ][cs_element_row _id=”33″ ][cs_element_column _id=”34″ ][cs_element_quote _id=”35″ ][cs_content_seo]If you feel that you or your child may be struggling with a learning disorder (dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia), attention disorder (ADD/ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, or other psychological & cognitive concerns, please get in touch to talk about how psychological testing could be helpful.\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_gap _id=”36″ ][cs_element_accordion _id=”37″ ][cs_element_accordion_item _id=”38″ ][cs_content_seo]What kind of testing do you offer?\n\n Typical areas we test: IQ, academic skills (reading, writing, comprehension, math, listening, spelling), learning style, memory, executive functioning, attention, social functioning, and emotional and behavioral difficulties.
Typical “issues” we test for: ADHD, learning disorders (dyslexia, math disorder/dyscalculia), oppositional behavior, mood disorders (bipolar, anxiety, depression), autism spectrum disorders/Asperger’s.\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_accordion_item _id=”39″ ][cs_content_seo]What does your testing process include?\n\nWhile there is often variability in testing depending on your specific question(s), core elements include:

2-hour diagnostic interview to get background and history
4-6 hours of face-to-face testing (IQ, learning style, executive functions, memory, cognitive processing, and personality)
Several paper-and-pencil questionnaires & behavioral checklists
School observation (if applicable)
1-2 hour feedback session to discuss results and recommendations
\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_accordion_item _id=”40″ ][cs_content_seo]What does the testing day look like?\n\nWe typically schedule testing days from 9am to 3pm with an hour long break at noon for lunch. The testing day depends on the areas we will plan to take a look into, but generally, testing days may consist of brain games, puzzles, academic-type work like reading and writing, and perhaps some clinical type interviews. Your clinician will make sure to walk you through what the testing day will look like and how to prepare yourself or your kiddo for it.\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_accordion_item _id=”41″ ][cs_content_seo]Will my insurance cover this?\n\nCheck out our billing page to see more information about insurance coverage and cost of services.\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_accordion_item _id=”42″ ][cs_content_seo]Do I need a referral in order to schedule an appointment?\n\nWe do not need a referral to schedule an appointment. However, your insurance provider may like to have one in order to cover our services or prove medical necessity. We recommend contacting your insurance provider and asking them whether your behavioral health benefits depend on whether we have a referral. Our insurance verification that we run before your first appointment will also tell us whether one might be needed.\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_accordion_item _id=”43″ ][cs_content_seo]I’d like to know more about your evaluation services, who should I talk to?\n\n To inquire about our services, email contact@coloradocac.com
