I am an Intern pursuing my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Denver and hope to become a Licensed Practicing Counselor. I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Counseling in May of 2020.
As a Chicago native, I take any chance I can get to be outdoors here in sunny Colorado. I love to hike, do yoga, meditate, and am currently learning how to snowboard! Since moving here in 2017, I have become obsessed with all things horticulture and hope to pursue a licensure in horticulture therapy once I graduate from my Master’s program. But for now, I spend most of my time with my partner and friends, my cat Peaches, and on FaceTime with my family back home.
As an undergraduate student, I worked for the Victim Assistance Team as a Victim Advocate at Colorado State University, specializing in assisting survivors of interpersonal violence and sexual assault. I also volunteered as a Crisis Counselor for the Crisis Text Line where I provided crisis support and assisted in suicide/risk assessment. I find the trauma-informed work I do to be both rewarding and engaging. Supporting folks during some of their darkest, most daunting times in their lives is something I welcome and want to understand alongside them.
As an individual counselor, I work to provide therapy that is evidence-based and attachment-focused. It’s my goal to meet people where they’re at and create realistic goals during our work together. Sometimes people need to learn more about what is going on about them, so I strive to provide the resources about their specific needs to further their treatment goals.
