Master's Level Counseling Intern

[ he/him ]

What do you most look forward to about the work you do?

I look forward to helping my clients discover or rediscover their own, unique strengths and abilities. I look forward to watching clients tackle obstacles and move towards their ideas and goals for themselves and their lives.

What do you most value about the work you do?

I value client's desires and hopes. It is not for me to decide their goals, but rather collaborate with them in order for them to achieve their own goals. After all, only they are the expert of their own life.

What is something clients might never guess about you?

I lived in China for two years!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be in the Army!

I am currently a Master’s level counseling intern practicing out of Fort Collins. The majority of my clinical experience has been during the COVID-19 pandemic, both in-person and virtual. In the past, I have worked inside of schools and served 5 years in the military (Army). When I lived in Washington State, I spent a lot of time volunteering and working with active-duty soldiers, veterans, and their families.

My therapy style is to listen intently and empathically as only you are the expert on your life. Each session is tailored to your individual needs and interests. I incorporate motivational interviewing, solution focused, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and I foster a collaborative environment with each of my clients.

I have lived in many places inside and outside the United States, but through it all Colorado has always been the place I consider home. I grew up in Colorado Springs and have lived up and down the front range. I absolutely love the outdoors (hiking, skiing, etc.) and Colorado is an awesome place to raise my two boys.
