Hi, I'm Susannah!
I'm a post-doctoral resident practicing out of Fort Collins, CO with a focus in assessment and counseling.
Assessment: ADHD, learning disorders, intellectual disability, and behavioral/mood disorders.
Counseling: Behavioral, parenting, and relational concerns, anxiety, depression, bipolar, and grief/loss
I am a post-doctoral resident here at CCAC and am excited to be a part of the team! I graduated from University of Northern Colorado in 2021 with a PhD in Counseling Psychology and have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including community mental health centers, youth detention, and a university clinic. My therapy work has focused on adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma (Complex and BigT), though I have worked with a variety of presenting concerns (behavioral, parenting, and relational concerns, anxiety, depression, bipolar, and grief/loss). I have also completed psychological assessments for a variety of referral questions related to ADHD, learning disorders, intellectual disability, and behavioral/mood disorders.
As a clinician, I join clients with curiosity and empathy. I deeply believe that you are the expert in your own life and it’s my job to be a guide, helping you reconnect to the wisdom you hold within. The foundation of this work, from my perspective, is co-creating a place of safety within our therapeutic relationship where you can feel seen, heard, and understood. From this base, I tailor my approach to each client, teaching skills or using a variety of interventions to help increase well-being, facilitate emotion and nervous system regulation, support connection to self and others, and help you reach your goals.
Though I am originally from Georgia, I view Colorado as my home and feel grateful to live here. When I am not working, I enjoy hanging out with my pup, Bodhi, and exploring this wonderful state. Specifically, I enjoy trail running, yoga, meditation, connecting with friends on a patio, and a good sour beer. I am looking forward to getting to know you!
