Couples and families, parenting

Are you worried about your child? Are you feeling overwhelmed as a parent? It seems like parenting should be “natural,” but it's so much harder than that! I am an experienced family and child therapist, and I love helping families to work together to solve tough problems. Often, children act out because they have difficulty expressing themselves, so I like to get creative to help families to understand one another,
and get children off to the best possible start in life.

I believe that each parent wants very much to do the best for their child, and that each child wants to beclose to their family. I believe in laughter, frankness, vulnerability and play. I am compassionate, but straightforward. I can also provide Cognitive Processing Therapy, an evidence-based, short-term treatment for PTSD.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Fort Collins. Although I grew up here, I only recently moved home after many years in New York City in order to be closer to my family. I graduated from Hunter College School of Social Work in 2010, and then completed 5 years of postgraduate training at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. During those years, I worked with diverse kids and families in a variety of community settings, and in my own private practice. I live in Fort Collins now with my partner and 2-year-old son. You might see us on the bike trail!
